What are property valuations?

Valuations are designed to establish an accurate market value for a residential property. Maison Surveyors carry out residential valuations for a variety of situations including:

  • Help to Buy

  • RICS Home Survey - Level 2 (survey & valuation)

  • Insurance

  • Matrimonial & Divorce

  • Probate

  • Shared Ownership

  • Private Purchase

A valuation is not a detailed survey and are different to valuation appraisals carried out by estate agents. They provide useful information about the value of the property in its surroundings.

Valuations must be conducted by a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), to give you peace of mind that your surveyor will be maintaining the expected professional standards.

Maison Surveyors will establish the true value of your home or new home, giving you the assurance that you are making the best and most informed decisions.

We focus our attention on local property markets, honing our knowledge to give you accurate and reliable information.

If you’d like to speak with a registered RICS expert valuer further, please contact us.

What to expect?

Your valuation will take place at the property. The inspection will take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, this will all depend on how large and how complex the layout of the property.

Your RICS registered valuer will assess the age, condition, layout and special characteristics of the property. They will review and come back to you with an expert valuation within an agreed timeframe. Valuations can also be included alongside a Homebuyer surveys.
